Boston Smoke-Free Homes
Smoke-Free Homes Pledge

A smoke-free home starts with you. Take the Smoke-Free Homes Pledge and be on your way to a healthier home today.

Set an example.
Make your home a smoke-free zone. Place smoke-free signage on your doors and windows, and remind family and friends that smoking is not allowed in your home. On this site you’ll find decals, door hangers, coasters and other free materials. You can also find resources to help you or someone in your family stop smoking.

Stay strong.
Remind neighbors, family and friends why smoke-free homes are important. Strike up a conversation with your landlord or property manager about the benefits of going smoke-free, and then make it a point to talk to him or her on a regular basis about a building-wide smoke-free policy. Remind landlords and property managers that they may benefit financially from going smoke-free.

Know you’re not alone.
In addition to a growing number of Bostonians committed to smoke-free housing, Mayor Thomas Menino has recognized the importance of going smoke-free as well. Read about his commitment to the health of Bostonians in his letter to Boston residents
